Singer Omah Lay has been awarded the “Next Rates” in the 14th Headies Award.
The ‘Next Rated’ category is a voting category for the most promising singer in the year.

He was nominated alongside Tems, Oxlade and Bella Shmurda in the category.
His fellow singers, Bella and Oxlade walked him to the stage to claim the award which he dedicated to the lives lost at the #EndSars protest/Lekki shooting which happened on the 20th of October, 2020.
The win was a big one for him as the category was a tight one with the fellow singers nominated.
