Ibrahim Aku who is the accountant of the church of brethren is sentenced to 18 years in prison for stealing the church money without option for fine by the court.
Ibrahim Aku stole 15.5m from the church between the year 2016 -2018 by tendering false bank teller or in other word, forged teller to defraud the ministry. The money are gotten from donations, offerings and tithe by church members and visitors.
The Federal high court judge who sentenced him to 18 years in prison also called on anti-graft agency to sell all the properties of Ibrahim Aku which he acquired with the church money. The properties were recovered during investigation and it is to be sold in order to cover up for the church loss.
