A pregnant woman in Ogun state has died of COVID-19 as the state records the second death caused by the virus out of 56 confirmed cases.
According to a report by DAILY POST, it was known that the woman was being tested for COVID-19 and she died while waiting for the result.
She passed away at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Idi Aba, in Abeokuta where it was detected that she gave up the ghost as a result of the COVID-19 issue.

It was also known that she was tested alongside two other people, a man, and a woman. After her death, the result revealed that she has been infected with the virus alongside the man, while the other woman tested negative.
According to DAILY POST report the woman;
had visited the obstetrics and gynecology units of the facility. She was reportedly moved from one ward to the other before her death

The man who has tested positive has been moved to the isolation center at Ikenne and the body of the deceased has been transferred to FMC mortuary.
The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker said she is
“aware of the unfortunate demise of an obstetric patient at FMC.”

“I am yet to receive a report from the clinical team at FMC.”
While the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Segun Orisajo did not deny nor make a statement about the confirmation of the development, but he said the management of the FMC would make an official statement after they meet.
