The Nigeria Football Federation’s President, Amaju Pinnick, has stated that a new head coach for the country’s senior national team will be chosen by Thursday.
Following Gernot Rohr’s departure, the Super Eagles have been without a full-time manager since December 2021, and Nigerians have been waiting for an announcement of a new manager.
According to sources, the NFF is interested in signing Portuguese Jose Peseiro, who previously led Venezuela, while the ministry wants additional coaches interviewed for the position in order to select the best coach for the three-time African champions.
While viewing his interview with Punch, he remarked this: “All the minister wants is fair play and not just Peseiro, he wants us to weigh other options and we will be announcing the new Eagles coach latest by Thursday.”
In an international friendly in May, the Super Eagles will face Mexico and Ecuador.
