In the fight against insurgents in Nigeria 🇳🇬, the United States 🇺🇸 have agreed to deploy fighter jets to the African nation to help fight Boko Haram and other terrorist in Nigeria.
The United state government agreed and have promised to send 12 A-29 Super Tucano aircraft to Nigeria.
The U.S secretary of Airforce, Barbara Barrett made this known on his two days tour in Nigeria.
during her tour, she met with several Nigerian senior officials including senior military officials at the Ministry of Defence.
In talks with the military officials, she noted that about 60 Nigerian military pilots, instructors and also aircraft maintenance professionals would undergo training for 24 months when the aircrafts are being delivered to ensure good use and operation.
in a statement by the US embassy, they said;
“The positive trajectory of the military cooperation between the US and Nigeria,” noting that the talks covered a range of defence and security matters of mutual interest.”
