China found a cure for coronavirus and it has been tested in the very city of Wuhan where the virus originated from. The researchers in China who work for the Chinese government discovered that the Japanese made drug called “AVIGAN” which is primarily meant to treat flu, as in Malaria and fever has worked effectively on the patients with the coronavirus or COVID-19 in the city of Wuhan.
The Chinese government has decided to push the drugs out to be used to cure the virus worldwide. The director of the national center for Biotechnology development, Zhang Xinmin made mention of the drug and the situation at the news conference on Tuesday, 17th of March.
And according to Zhang Xinmin, the patients who tested positive later tested negative after using the drug, Avigan in Shenzhen just after day 4 of contracting the virus. The trial also concluded that Avigan made improvements in the lungs which is primarily where the virus settles when it gets to the body.

X-ray photos showed that the infected people’s lungs improved by 91% without any sign of the virus, while the people who got cured without the drugs by 62%. The drug showed no side effects after clinical trial and it also cured coronavirus related symptoms like pneumonia.
The director also added that the tests which were conducted in the Wuhan took just 2.5 days to reduce/drop the temperature of the patients who were on the drug, while it took more for those who didn’t.
The drug will go into mass production as soon as possible as a Chinese company has been approved by the government and they have licensed the drug from the developer in Japan.

The cases that have been discovered are now more than 80,000 as 21 new cases were confirmed on Monday and the death count is now 3,226.
