The Nigeria state government on Thursday has added two more weeks to the lockdown in the state to further contain the spread of Coronavirus in the state.
The state has been experiencing the rise in the cases of COVID-19 lately according to Governor Sani Bello of Niger state.

In a statement by Ahmed Ibrahim Matane, the Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG) and Chairman, Niger State Task Force on COVID-19 Pandemic explained that the extension of the lockdown will further help the people from losing their families to the deadly disease, COVID-19.
H urged the residents of the state to always live a healthy life and to adhere to the safety measures which have been put in place for us to protect them from contracting the virus.
He also stressed that facemask is advised to be worn in public places and washing hands with soaps and running water regularly is good alongside the application of hand sanitizers.
“Furthermore, there shall be no human and vehicular movements on the lockdown days except those on essential services; the three days window period of Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays remain.
“Public and Private Schools, as well as Tertiary Institutions, remain closed while social activities that involve more than twenty people stand prohibited,”
He also said people should stay at home and avoid irregular movement.
