In a major operation, the Lagos Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) apprehended 29 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud.
The arrests took place on Friday, May 26, 2023, following intelligence reports on computer-related fraudulent activities in Lagos.
The suspects, whose names have been disclosed, include Marcus Bode Daramola, Shobayo Tosin Micheal, Toheeb Akinde Opeyemi, Lawal Ojima Labran, Otutu Chibuzor Solomon, Christian Walter Divine, Amos O. Toluyemi, Shittu Babatunde Marvelous, Oluwafemi Samuel Adebowale, Kingsley Agu Chidiebere, Tolulope David Olagunde, and Dika Courage Ramsey, among others.

The arrests were made at Buena Vista Estate, Orchid Road, Lekki, Lagos State, and the operation yielded significant recoveries. Exotic vehicles, mobile devices, and laptop computers were seized from the suspects as part of the investigation.
The EFCC’s swift action in apprehending these individuals highlights its ongoing efforts to combat cybercrime and protect the public from fraudulent activities. Internet fraud has become a pervasive problem, causing financial losses and damaging reputations.
