The moon was sighted on Thursday, 23rd of April, 2020 so, therefore 24th of April which is Friday has been declared as the 1st day of Ramadan for the Islamic 1441 After Hijrah.
The update of the sighted moon was shared by the Sultan of Sokoto and the Chairman of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Abubakar Saad III on Thursday.
