Aminu Muhammad, a student at the Federal University of Dutse (FUD) who was jailed for criticizing the First Lady, Aisha Buhari, on Twitter, has counseled netizens to use social media responsibly.
Aminu, a final-year environmental management student, was allegedly seized on November 18 by Nigerian Police Force and Department of State Service officers over a tweet in which he said that the First Lady eats fat on poor people’s money.

Muhammad, who was prosecuted before Justice Yusuf Halilu of the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama, has already been released after the first lady dropped the defamation charge against him.
Following his release, the 24-year-old told Channels TV that social media users should utilize the different sites wisely and not follow in his footsteps.
“Freedom of speech everybody has it, freedom after speech that is where the big problem is. We should use our social media platforms accordingly you have no idea where what you post where it will go. It can reach everywhere in the world and the problem that it will cost you, the people that are supporting you will not be there”.
