On April 2nd, Maryam Abacha, the late General Sani Abacha’s former first lady, delivered a statement regarding individuals who had offended her family. She declared that she had forgiven them all.
The Sun published a piece on her 75th birthday in which she made the assertion. Former First Lady Maryam Abacha remarked that she has reached a place in her life when she is willing to let go of the past. She maintains that God has cleansed her heart, and as a result, she has no qualms about dying soon.
She said:
“God has purified my heart and I am still alive and grateful to Almighty Allah for that. I can die now or tomorrow, I am thankful to Allah for all my life.
“To all those who offended us, I am using this opportunity to say that I have forgiven them all. I hope we shall forgive each other and God will forgive us all.”
Capping her statement, she urged all Nigerians to settle, forgive and make peace with themselves for a better Nigeria and a safer community.
