The Governor of Borno state, Babagana Zulum has blasted the Nigerian Army at Baga for not defending the town from the insurgents after alleged Boko haram fighter attacked his convoy.
Babagana Zulum who was heading to the northern side of Borno state to distribute food which he has been doing ever since the outbreak of COVID-19 in Nigeria was attacked by some gunmen who are suspected to be Boko Harams.
The Governor expressed his disappointment to the Commanding Officer in Mile 4 for not liberating Baga and its environs from the Boko Haram insurgents.
Angry Zulum said,
“You have been here for over one year now, there are 1,181 soldiers here; if you cannot take over Baga which is less than 5 km from your base, then we should forget about Baga. I will inform the Chief of Army Staff to redeploy the men to other places that they can be useful.
“You people said there’s no Boko Haram here, then who attacked us?”
