The Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has come out to create awareness of the damages and the negative impact the arrest of Hushpuppi will cause.
Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa said the arrest of Hushpuppi who is currently in US prison for cybercrime has painted Nigerians has criminals and has dirty the image of Nigeria globally.

Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa added that Nigerians should stay away from cyber-crimes and flaunting of money the way alleged cybercriminal, Ramon Abbas, popularly known as Hushpuppi did on Instagram.
She said “Committing crime and still having the audacity to show off like Ramon Igbalode aka Hushpuppi. This is really denting our image as a people.”
“But like I always say, fraud does not represent who we are as Nigerians; hardworking, dedication and commitment is what we, as a country are known for.”
