Nollywood veteran actress, Iyabo Ojo, who is also a business owner in Lagos, expressed her dissatisfaction with the Lagos State government regarding a substantial tax bill she received, along with a seven-day deadline for payment.
In her statement, she questioned the Governor of Lagos State and the management, seeking an explanation for the significant amount of personal income tax she was being charged.
Iyabo Ojo emphasized that she diligently fulfills all her tax obligations, including those related to her businesses and properties. Despite her compliance, she expressed her surprise at receiving an exorbitant tax bill from the Lagos State Tax Collector’s Office, with a strict seven-day payment deadline.

Furthermore, she mentioned that she had previously visited the tax office in response to an invitation from the ministry, where she provided a detailed account of her earnings with the assistance of her tax consultant. Iyabo Ojo also stated that she had sent a letter to the ministry but had not received a reply.
To illustrate her point, Iyabo Ojo shared the tax letter she received, which indicated an outstanding tax amount of N18,640,092 and demanded payment within seven days.
