In what was reported by the Lagos state police force, some group of young men were apprehended for stealing construction materials.
The police operatives attached to Area E Command, in Festac-Lagos State, reportedly arrested five suspects in a Ford Bus with the seen Reg. Number FST 679 XZ.
They were said to have stolen some 25mm iron rods which were later discovered to be the properties of Chinese company, China Construction Engineering Company (CCEC).
In a statement released by the spokesperson of the state police command, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, he said the thieves offered the police officers a sum of 500,000 Naira so they could allow them go freely and escape justice.
Adding to his statement, he listed the names of the suspects as Lawal Saheed-40yrs, Taofeek Adenigba-43yrs, Ope Olowolayemo-28yrs, Azeez Jamie-41yrs and Omotayo Adewale-34yrs and they were all males.
Adejobi also listed the construction materials retrieved from them as follows; some pieces of 25mm iron rods, one Nozzle, one gas cylinder and Ford Bus with Reg. No. FST 697 XZ.
The Commissioner of Police in Lagos, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered a thorough investigation, and the suspects be charged to court as soon as possible.
