Subway riders honours Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant by naming a Subway stop after him, from “42nd St-Bryant Park” to “Kobe Bryant Park”.
This was revealed when a makeshift sign was hung up at the Bryant Park subway station hours after his death in a helicopter crash was announced.
The sign at the 42nd St-Bryant Park Station which was labeled “42nd Street” was replaced with “Kobe” in order to read: “Kobe Bryant Park.”
