Some Nigerian youths have expressed their displeasure online after singer Timi Dakolo chose to perform his beloved song ‘Great Nation’ at the ceremony marking Atiku Abubakar’s declaration for the presidency in 2023, which took place today, March 23, 2022.
One Diamond wrote
“This is the problem of Nigeria. Our celebrities can been bought with money anytime and they believe they’re the ones to influence other through social media…Greedy people because you’re looking for your own then tomorrow they’ll come and join Endsars protest…why can’t they reject to perform in any of their political activities as a protest to OCT 20 2020 #endsars Use what you have to show this old men that they’re not wanted anymore as leaders, protest with anything you can.”
Atiku Abubakar, while declaring for the presidency in 2023, urged Nigerians to join him in saving the country.
Atiku, who served as vice president under former President Olusegun Obasanjo, will be running for president for the sixth time.
He is running on the Peoples Democratic Party platform (PDP)
