The Premier League has announced that the 2020/21 season will start on September 12 and run until May 23, 2021.
The English top-flight league made this announcement in a statement via its official website on Friday.
The announcements means that the season will begin behind closed doors, with spectators only set to return to venues on a socially-distanced basis from October 1.
“Premier League Shareholders today agreed to start the 2020/21 Premier League season on 12 September 2020,” the statement read.
“The final match round of the campaign will take place on 23 May 2021.
“The Premier League will continue to consult The FA and EFL regarding the scheduling of all domestic competitions.”
Meanwhile, the 2019/20 Premier League season will be concluded on Sunday.
Liverpool have already been crowned champions of the 2019/20 Premier League season.
