The World Health Organization (WHO) has called upon countries, including Nigeria, to make necessary reforms in order to be prepared for future pandemics.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the head of WHO, commended countries for accepting a significant budget increase during the agency’s annual assembly.
Speaking after the global emergency status for COVID-19 was lifted, Tedros emphasized the importance of advancing negotiations to prevent future pandemics.
He warned that the next pandemic was inevitable and urged immediate action, stating that delaying necessary changes would be detrimental.
