President Buhari has offered his condolences to the families of victims of the fresh attacks in Maiduguri, Borno State, promising them that his administration will make sure all the devilish operations of the Boko Haram will be defeated and making it extinct.
On Sunday night February 9th, members of the terrorist group attacked travellers along the Maiduguri-Damaturu highway in Auno town, Konduga local government area of Borno state, killing over thirty of them, destroying properties and many others were abducted.
President Buhari condemned the attack in a statement released by his media aide, Garba Shehu, he also described it as “murderous and cowardly”. The President said his administration is fully focused to destroy the goal of the sect members to captivate Nigeria.

“The commitment of this administration to protect the lives of Nigerians will not be derailed by the cowardly and indiscriminate violence against innocent people by Boko Haram terrorists,’’ the statement quotes the president as saying
The President Buhari, who also expressed his sympathy to the Borno state government, warns “that terrorists are clearly on a back foot and their days are numbered’’.
“As our armed forces continue to receive more hardware and intelligence to counter our current security challenges, the remnants of Boko Haram will ultimately be crushed. The peculiar challenges of asymmetric warfare notwithstanding, our armed forces are ever determined to defeat these enemies of humanity,’’ President Buhari said.
