A Nigerian Facebook hacker who is identified as Vincent Harrison Chukwuemeka has been sentenced to 1 year imprisonment for defrauding someone of 407,000 Naira.
In a statement which was released by the EFCC, Harrison was said to have hacked a Facebook account and pretended he was Lisa, a representative of Facebook.
He messaged his victim, Felicity Felix Ekpezu, and telling her she had won $971 and an Iphone 6s, to which Felix needed to pay N407, 000 to redeem her price.
According to the statement, he was sentenced to prison on a one-count charge bordering on impersonation and obtaining by false pretence.
Harrison at first pleaded “not guilty” to the charges against him, but later in the course of trial changed his plea to being “guilty” of the charges, he was asked to refund to his victim the money he fraudulently collected from her, which he did.
